Workshops:
9:30 a.m. - Julie Gariss - "Err-looms." It is a look at the family that Joseph of the Old Testament was raised in. There was such incredible dysfunction in the family (I spend quite a bit of time looking at that), and yet God was able to use this man in amazing ways. I believe looking back at his life can give women a lot of hope in theirs. There are just certain family traits that we don't have to "inherit" if we just recognize them for what they are.
11:00 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. -
Kathy Craig - "God's Light...Your Light"
There's a theme running through all of scripture. "Good" verses "evil" / "light" verses "darkness." In fact, did you know that God's Word records the three most important events of the earth's history and in each of these events "light" is the primary theme? As we study together, we'll learn about these events, as well as learn about the special assignment given to our Lord that He in turn also gives to each one of us. And for some good ol' fashion fun, we'll do a little "light show" to help us answer these questions (and more)...What is it about a flare that attracts all eyes to it? How can a blacklight shine when life is so...black? How does a flashlight shine in dark places? How do candles spread their friendly fire? What makes lamps so warm and cozy? We'll explore various types of lights and how being like these lights can help us fulfill that special assignment our Lord has for us.
Anne Menear - "10 Thing You can Learn from a Flip Flop"
There are ten uses for a flip flop that can apply to our everyday Christian walk. We all need to be reminded of some basic principles that will help to keep our life with Christ happy and healthy. Life in the "Son" can be a wlak on the beach...
Luncheon Message - Gladys Frump will make an appearance and present "Faith for Pantywaists!" This talk centers around the idea that we are all weak individuals, and that weakness manifests itself lots of different ways. I will deal with fear and loss of hope.
The cost for the day is $12.
