Campus Services
Many services are provided by the College. These are intended to aid your Christian growth, and to help you maintain a happy, wholesome attitude and life each day.
ORIENTATION
A program is provided at the beginning of each semester to help the new students adapt to their lives at Central.
COUNSELING
Ongoing counseling services are provided by the Vice-President of Student Life and by the professors of Christian counseling. Frequently, other faculty or staff members are involved as well.
Each student is a member of a group overseen by a faculty member, facilitating additional contact between the students and the faculty.
BOOKSTORE
The bookstore serves students by providing study materials and additional texts for courses. Churches and other individuals also use the bookstore to secure a variety of materials designed to promote learning and Christian growth. The Reese Resource Center houses both the bookstore and the library.
LIBRARY
The operation of the library is explained in an orientation lecture and in a library handbook. A distinctive feature of Central's library is the collection of missionary files begun by the Walter Cobles of Garrett, Indiana, and kept current by the library staff.
This is one of the most complete files on independent missions to be found anywhere. The library also houses the primary campus computer lab, as well as containing periodicals, audio-visual material, a modern foreign language computer lab, and a collection of rare books.
CAFETERIA
Dormitory students pay a board fee that entitles them to eat in the cafeteria. The cafeteria is closed Sunday and during school vacations. Staff members and other students may also eat their meals in the cafeteria. The delicious food served by our cooks contributes to good health and a positive mental attitude. Some students are employed by the cafeteria.
MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
The buildings and grounds are the responsibility of the maintenance department. The workers do an excellent job in keeping them attractive. Campus maintenance work provides jobs for some students. Dormitory residents are required to do only routine cleaning in their rooms.
CHURCH RELATIONS PROGRAMS
Central coordinates several programs that link the churches and the College. This work falls into four areas: (1) helping churches in the area to find ministers and youth ministers from among the students; (2) scheduling programs by speakers and groups; (3) providing staff and student supply preachers on an ongoing basis;
and (4) keeping and providing lists of churches wanting ministers and of ministers who are available to move.
COMPUTER SERVICES
Computers are located within the Library's computer lab and in the Internet cafe. The entire campus is wired for Internet access, which means that a properly equipped computer can be connected to the campus network for an additional semester fee. All full-time students have access to the campus computers.
Wireless Internet access is also available in key locations of the campus, enabling students to access the Internet in the library, lobbies, cafeteria, or classrooms.
