Charges and Fees
RESERVATION & ORIENTATION FEE
A "new student" is defined as one who will be taking seven or more hours at
Central for the first time. A new student, in order to reserve a class spot and pay
for orientation expenses, must pay a one-time non-refundable "New Student
Reservation/Orientation Fee."
MATRICULATION FEE
The matriculation fee is charged at the time of registration to students who enroll
at Central for the first time. The matriculation fee covers the setup of student
records systems, academic scheduling, transcript evaluation, and guidance in
development of a plan of study. The fee is not reapplied as long as the student
maintains continuous enrollment at Central. The matriculation fee is reapplied if
a student returns to Central after at least two consecutive semesters of nonenrollment.
TUITION CHARGES
A fixed charge for tuition is applied to the bill of all full-time students. Part-time
students are charged an hourly tuition rate. Degree-seeking students who qualify
for the full-tuition scholarship will receive a credit equal to the amount of tuition
applied to their account. Students who do not qualify for the full-tuition
scholarship must pay any tuition charges due at registration.
STUDENT SERVICES FEE
The student services fee covers a wide range of student services including sports
passes, college e-mail account, personal mailbox, missions emphasis banquet,
student identification card, computer lab access and limited printing privileges. It
is charged to all students.
ROOM & BOARD FEE
Residential students are charged the room & board fee to cover the cost of
housing, utilities, and 16 meals per week in the cafeteria. Students can choose to
pay an additional fee if space availability allows for a double- or single-occupancy
room.
FACILITIES USAGE FEE
The facilities usage fee is required for off-campus students. Under the full-tuition
scholarship, off-campus students pay no tuition and no room and board. This flat
fee helps to provide for a small portion of the personnel and utilities expenses
necessary for the staffing and maintenance of the campus facilities.
INDEPENDENT STUDY UPCHARGE
Students who register for an independent study course, distance learning course,
or summer school course will be charged an hourly rate, unless they are paying
their own tuition charge.
ACADEMIC PROBATION
Students who are on Academic Alert or Academic Warning are required to pay an
additional fee to cover the cost of private tutoring and reserved access to the
Learning Lab.
PRIVATE MUSIC INSTRUCTION
As space is available, students may choose to take private music lessons. Those
lessons may be taken for credit or audit, but the charge is the same to cover the
cost of the instruction.
