Discipline

A mature Christian practices self-control and self-discipline within the framework of the New Testament. Personal, formative discipline is an integral part of the student's daily life. Campus activities, classroom lessons, counseling, and Christian service assignments are all involved in helping the student shape his life to be a transformed Christian.

Because of the dedicated students who come to Central, corrective discipline is at a minimum. Since disciplinary action can interrupt a student's academic life, legal requirements make it mandatory that we tell you the procedures and causes of this type of discipline:

  1. Discipline of a general nature is handled by the Residence Hall Director if it involves dormitory life. Problems outside the dormitory are considered by the Vice-President of Student Life.

  2. Discipline of a serious nature will be handled by the Vice-President of Student Life in cooperation with the administration.

  3. The student has the right to a hearing in order that all facts may be determined and that the charges brought against him can be explained. The student has a right to request that a disciplinary committee be formed to hear his or her appeal. The student also has the right to be notified of the decisions reached after due deliberation.

Before being accepted as a student of Central, an applicant must sign a statement on the application form agreeing to observe the ideals that are believed and taught at the College. Please consult the Student Life Handbook for the relevant regulations and guidelines.
