How does the scholarship work?

Every full-time student accepted to CCCB receives a scholarship from the college in an amount that equals 100% of tuition. This scholarship may last for four or more years, so long as the student is enrolled as a full-time student. This scholarship will increase with any future increases in tuition in order to ensure that 100% of tuition is covered by scholarship. Other student fees such as room and board, books, sports passes, parking and the like are not covered by this scholarship, but may be covered by federal financial aid or outside scholarships. More details are at www.cccb.edu/admissions/financial.php.

What does it take to be accepted?

Central utilizes a selective process for reviewing applications. Applicants score points in three areas: faith, academics, and declared goals. In matters of faith, the Admissions Department will verify that the applicant has indicated himself as an active member of a church. In the academic realm CCCB will take into account the applicant's ACT or SAT scores. If the applicant has not taken the ACT or SAT, or has taken it more than five years previous to application, a minimum score is granted.* In the area of goals, the applicant's declared major is reviewed. Only CCCB's resident majors, and Cooperative majors are given scores.

The CCCB Admissions Department accepts or denies students initially based on the information provided in the application. This acceptance is provisional and as documentation arrives, the applicant's acceptance is confirmed. Documentation includes test scores, transcripts, and ministerial reference forms. In the event that documentation received contradicts information on the application or disqualifies the student for acceptance, the provisional acceptance may be rescinded.

* Transfer students are scored based on college GPA or the awarding of an Associate's Degree.

Will my credits transfer to a non-Christian school?

As with credits from any accredited college or university, decisions regarding transferability or applicability to any particular program rest with the receiving institution. Fulfillment of particular requirements at another college or university may necessitate specific syllabus and course content reviews. Consequently, no college or university can guarantee specific transferability except in the case of co-operative degree programs (see an example of Central's co-operative programs at www.cccb.edu/academics/programs.php). Nevertheless, Central's accreditation and recognition have allowed our students to successfully transfer credits and degrees to private and public colleges and universities across the country.

Do you accept credits from other colleges?

While individual transferability of credits will vary, in general if you have an associates degree from an accredited college or university it is possible to graduate from CCCB in two years through our Bachelor of Religious Studies degree program. If you choose to pursue one of our other degree programs, degree completion will require more time. A review of transcripts of for an estimate of transferability of credits is available upon request for anyone who is accepted.
