The program of study at Central Christian College revolves
around three areas designed to equip students to understand and minister to the
world. The areas of Biblical Studies, General Studies, and Professional
Studies are taught with a view toward the integration of each into an overall
curriculum that defines and promotes a distinctively Christian worldview.
BIBLICAL STUDIES
The largest and most important area of study is the Bible.
Our mission is "to develop leaders for the church by providing a Bible-centered
higher education." Every degree program contains a major in Biblical Studies. Since
the Bible is the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice of the church, it is
the basic text of study at Central. The message of the Bible must be clearly
understood in order for the church to govern itself properly, to develop a proper
theology, and to establish a Biblical, ethical system. The principles for
shaping and guiding the lives of others in every aspect of life are drawn from
this same unchangeable Word of God. Requirements in biblical studies include
courses in Old Testament, New Testament, and Theology.
GENERAL STUDIES
The ability to understand and communicate with the world
is necessary for anyone to function effectively in ministry. The General
Studies area develops well-rounded students in disciplines that are not specifically
church related. Requirements are drawn from communication, social science,
foreign language, history, natural science, philosophy, and the arts. These
courses are taught from a Christian worldview and enable a student to have intelligent
discourse with others in society.
PROFESSIONAL STUDIES
The area of Professional Studies has the goal of equipping
and preparing the student to apply biblical studies in personal ministry. The
College considers effective application of entry-level competency in ministry the
primary goal of Bible college education. Courses in discipleship, evangelism,
and leadership coupled with experiences in service provide students with
foundational abilities to serve in a church. After being introduced to a wide
range of ministry options, students are better informed of their future
ministry opportunities.
