Bachelor of Religious Studies
B.R.S. Vocational
The B.R.S. Vocational degree is ideal for a student who desires to develop a specialized vocational ministry at a community college or technical school.
A student may either come to Central Christian College after completing an associate degree from another college, or complete the requirements for the B.R.S. degree while simultaneously pursuing an Associate degree from another institution.
In the first scenario, it will typically take 2 years to complete the requirements for the B.R.S. degree if the student has already obtained an associate degree.
In the second scenario, both degrees can be obtained in four years of attendance at Central. For instance, the Moberly Area Community College provides dozens of professional majors that can be taken while the student is also enrolled at Central.
Separate application must be made to MACC (or any other college), but Central accepts the courses taken at the other college towards the B.R.S. degree. Students are encouraged to attend Central full-time during the freshman year, then begin pursuing the associate degree starting in the sophomore year, leaving 3 years of dual enrollment.
This allows time at both schools to resolve any scheduling conflicts that may arise between the two schools. Summer courses at MACC will enable the student to finish within four years without an oppressive course load.
Students taking courses at another college simultaneous with enrollment at Central must still pay any tuition and fees at the other college. They do receive the full-tuition scholarship for courses at Central, even if they must take less than a full-time load during a semester.
Any student taking less than a full-time load at either Central or the other college being attended must fill out a special form to establish full-time status by combining the hours. This form is available from the Financial Aid Director.
