    PMI 105   Multi-Cultural Ministry   (3 hours)
    This course will help the student understand the issues concerning ministry to people of other cultures, either at home or abroad. Students will develop a Biblical cultural approach to ministry that will establish effective skills in reaching across cultures to win others to Christ. Special attention will also be given to the role of the church in ministering to those of other cultures. (Every Spring)

    PMI 215   History of Missions   (3 hours)
    This course is a study of the Scriptural basis and principles for world evangelism and its history from Pentecost until the present. Key dates, people, and missionary policies and their effects on present day missions will be considered. A major focus will be the work and impact of missionaries in the Restoration Movement. (Even Spring)

    PMI 216   Support Staff in Missions   (1 hour)
    By looking at Biblical examples and historical sketches, the student will better understand the developmental path of many modern mission organizations - thus enabling the student to appreciate the importance of the team approach (including the use of support workers) in reaching the world for Christ. (Occasional)

    PMI 217   Persecuted Fields   (1 hour)
    This course describes the conditions and circumstances of the suffering members of the Body of Christ around the world and to examine the Scriptures which relate especially to the responsibility of the rest of the body of Christ toward those who suffer. It is also the purpose of this course to examine and understand the role that suffering for Christ holds in the plan of God for His kingdom people, especially as it relates to foreign missions.     PMI 218   Cross-Cultural Methods and Strategies   (2 hours)
    Issues relating to inter-cultural living with focus on personal and interpersonal adjustment with nationals and other missionaries. Language, value conflicts, status and role, culture shock, stereotypes, cultural limitations, and related topics will be examined. (Every Spring)

    PMI 219   Selecting a Field   (1 hour)
    An overview of considerations potential missionaries must make before deciding which field to serve in. (Even Fall)

    PMI 220   Raising Support   (1 hour)
    This course deals with issues relating to inter-cultural living with focus on raising support. A variety of methods and philosophical issues will be examined as well as gaining practical insight. (Odd Spring)

    PMI 312   Theology of Missions   (2 hours)
    A comprehensive Biblical study of the missionary intent of God as it progressively unfolds in the Scriptures, with special focus on its significance for the missionary task today. A particular emphasis on the people of God in both the Old and New Testament will be developed. Issues involving salvation, world evangelization, the kingdom, and the dynamics of spiritual warfare will be discussed in order to help the student develop a personal, Biblical theology of missions. (Even Fall)

    PMI 320   Working in Teams   (1 hour)
    This course will utilize a variety of practical simulations to discover the various dimensions involved in creating an honest and productive team environment specifically for the mission field. This course focuses on the shared responsibility of all team members for a team's effectiveness. Practical tools to work collaboratively in solving problems will be discovered that will help teams generate & prioritize ideas, make decisions, provide for accountability, define leadership roles and deal with conflict.

    PMI 322   Medical Missions   (1 hour)
    Introduction to both short term and long term medical mission work, with particular emphasis to recent work in Haiti and Nepal. The holistic relationship between medicine and evangelism will also be explored. (Occasional)

    PMI 323   Cross-Cultural Counseling   (2 hours)
    An opportunity for both missions students and counseling students to become familiar with crucial considerations in counseling others either in another culture or from another culture. (Prerequisite: PCM230) (Even Spring)

    PMI 325   World Religions   (2 hours)
    A survey of the religious traditions of the world with a theological evaluation of selected main ideas from each tradition will be made. In some semesters, special attention may be given to a particular world religion such as Islam. (Every Fall)

    PMI 326   Cultural Anthropology   (2 hours)
    An anthropological approach to Christian theology, studying interrelationships between human culture and Christianity. Special focus will be given to spiritual conversion and transformation, and issues concerning communication and the idea of revelation. (Odd Spring)

    PMI 328   Modern Language Elective   (6 hours)
    Using a combination of computer training and individual teaching, students are able to do independent study in a modern language of their choice, giving them advanced preparation for their future missions work. (Occasional)

    PMI 329   Independent Studies in Cross-Cultural Ministry   (1-4 hours)
    This course is an opportunity for students to conduct independent research under the supervision of a faculty member. A minimum of 45 hours of research for each hour of credit, plus a final paper or project are required for the course.
