Cross-Cultural Ministry
OBJECTIVES:
The student completing a Cross-Cultural Ministry emphasis will:
- Be able to communicate Biblical concepts to a local congregation using sound homiletical principles.
- Have a general introduction to the various ministry areas of the church through a combination of required and elective offerings.
- Have additional instruction in Bible courses.
- Express familiarity with the areas of current mission activity.
- Understand the history of missions, including the Biblical basis of mission work.
- Be able to direct a mission-interest program at a local congregation.
- Have some experience on the mission field through a field experience that will assist the student in determining whether or not to enter mission work.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to the standard requirements for the B.S. or B.A. degree, the student will complete the following 24 emphasis hours:
2 - Art of Preaching/Advanced Public Speaking
2 - World Religions
2 - Theology of Missions
2 - Cultural Anthropology
2 - Cross-Cultural Counseling
3 - History of Missions
2 - Cross-Cultural Methods & Strategies
1 - Ministry Field Orientation
2 - Field Education Experience
2 - Ministry & 4 - Missions Electives OR 6 - Modern Language Electives
