Career Opportunities

Students who graduate with a youth & family ministry degree often serve churches as associate ministers, youth ministers, or children's ministers. They may also work in parachurch settings that minister to youth, such as Christian camps or children's homes. Graduates may pursue graduate studies in seminaries to gain specialized training for leadership ministry.

Program Goals

The Youth & Family Ministry program can be developed either within the Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.  In addition to those degree goals, students in Youth & Family Ministry will be able to do the following:

  1. Explain societal trends that affect youth & family ministry.
  2. Identify the characteristics, needs, and developmental tasks of youth.
  3. Evaluate youth ministry models, products, and resources that seek to assist the youth ministry of the church.
