Preaching Ministry
OBJECTIVES:
The student completing a Preaching Ministry emphasis will:
- Be able to communicate the Gospel to a local congregation using sound homiletical principles.
- Be able to communicate the Gospel to individuals using sound principles of personal evangelism.
- Be able to administer and supervise the ministry program of the local congregation, in conjunction with and under the supervision of the elders.
- Be able to train and motivate volunteer leaders for the local congregation.
- Be able to use sound scriptural principles to counsel those in need.
- Be able to perform the various functions expected of the contemporary minister.
- Be prepared to continue personal growth and Bible study.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to the standard requirements for the B.S. or B.A. degree, the student will complete the following 24 emphasis hours:
2 - Art of Preaching
2 - Practical Ministries
1 - Principles of Finance and Law
2 - Ministerial Counseling
2 - Church Growth Elective
4 - Ministry Electives
2 - Church Leadership & Administration
6 - Preaching Electives (Choose three from Expository Preaching, Preaching Methods, Preaching Seminar, Inductive Preaching, Preaching Research, Preaching Workshop)
1 - Ministry Field Orientation
2 - Field Education Experience
