Youth & Family Ministry
OBJECTIVES:
The student completing a Youth & Family Ministry emphasis will:
- Be able to communicate Biblical concepts to a local congregation using sound homiletical principles.
- Have a general introduction to the various ministry areas of the church through a combination of required and elective offerings.
- Have additional instruction in Bible courses.
- Be able to plan, develop, and administrate a successful youth and family ministry program for the local congregation.
- Be able to recruit and train volunteer youth sponsors (coaches).
- Be able to select or prepare adequate and appropriate curriculum materials for youth work, and be able to provide resources for youth and their families.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
In addition to the standard requirements for the B.S. or B.A. degree, the student will complete the following 24 emphasis hours:

3 - Found. of Youth & Family
2 - Christian Education Elective
2 - Discipleship
2 - Youth Ministry Methods
2 - Ministry Electives
4 - Bible Electives
2 - Administration Elective (Christian Education Admin. or Church Admin.)
2 - Counseling Elective (Choose from Marriage and Family, Marriage Counseling, Youth and Family Counseling, or Pre-marital and Marital Programs)
1 - Ministry Field Orientation
2 - Field Education Experience
