Seeking Full-time Pulpit Minister/Evangelist

Central Church of Christ; Kirksville, MO

Our Vision Statement

Central Church of Christ is a non-denominational community of believers in Kirksville, Missouri that is bible and prayer oriented, believing God’s promises to be true and real, radiating joy because we believe God is active, loving and present in our lives.  We believe God reveals himself and speaks to us through the creation, through His Word, and through his Holy Spirit who lives within us.

We strive to:

  • live the message of Christ sharing God’s grace with one another and with our world.  Our primary calling is found in the Greatest Commandments and the Great Commission of Jesus.  We desire to be a fellowship of like-minded believers being one in spirit and purpose, loving our neighbors as ourselves, and having the attitude of Christ.
  • be committed to proclaiming the good news of the gospel not only through preaching and teaching, but also through application in our daily lives.
  • have a public worship that is an adoration of our Lord in song, prayer, communion, giving, and a proclamation of His Word that reflects a love for God that comes from the heart, soul, and mind.

We seek a minister who:

  1. loves God and loves people, who believes they have been called by God to proclaim the good news, and sees himself as more than an employee of the congregation hired to preach and to teach Bible classes.

  1. has a strong foundational knowledge of the Scriptures that has been achieved through personal study and formal education.  We believe it is important that the person have a baccalaureate degree which need not be in theology, but if not, the person should have completed a certification or minor program of Bible study.

  1. has a knowledge  and appreciation of independent churches of Christ; has a commitment to conservative Biblical principles and teaching that is not legalistic but progressive with the freedom to follow God’s leading in meaningful spiritual worship and effective good works in our community and beyond.

  1. has the self confidence, personality and social skills to relate to and work with persons of all age groups and from many different cultures and socioeconomic groups.  This includes large groups of persons that come to Kirksville from across the U.S. and foreign countries for study or employment at several area institutions of higher education.
