MOBERLY, Mo. Central Christian College of the Bible wrapped up its first-ever Midwest Christian College Conference title in school history with
a pair of league wins over the weekend. The Saints then returned to the field on Monday and improved on what currently stands as the best record in
program history.
CCCB improved to 13-3 overall with a 4-0 victory at Saint Louis Christian College on Monday. The previous season-high for wins was 11, taking place
in 2002 and 2007.
The Saints were crowned regular season champions of the MCCC after an 8-0 win over Nebraska Christian College on Friday and a 5-0 victory over
Grace University on Saturday. CCCB finished in a tie with five-time conference champion Manhattan Christian College
at 6-1 on the year, but own the head-to-head matchup between the two schools.
Highlights of the three games were a pair of hat tricks by David McConeghey and Dustan Corcoran against Nebraska Christian, as well as a three-game shutout
streak by the defense.
The Saints will get 10 days off to prepare for the postseason, which begins with the MCCC Tournament in Moberly on Oct. 23-25. The first two rounds will
take place at Shepherd Fields, while the championship round will be held on the CCCB campus.
The Saints are the No. 1 seed and face eighth seed Vennard College at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23. For more information on the tournament,
