Simone Woods had a team-high 13 digs for the Saints in their season-opening win over Saint Louis Christian College on Tuesday.

MOBERLY, Mo. — The CCCB women's volleyball team opened the 2008 season by sweeping Saint Louis Christian College 3-0 on Tuesday night at Pelfrey Hall. The Saints defeated the Soldiers in three straight sets, 25-8, 25-9, and 25-12.

Freshman Mazi Dowdy had a strong night at the net, converting 9-of-12 attempts into kills with just one error in the match. Dowdy also added seven assists, while sophomore Brandin Manuel had a team-high 10 assists and seven aces. Simone Woods recorded 13 digs on the night.

The Saints will return to the court on Friday when they host Calvary Bible College at 5:30 p.m. to open Midwest Christian College Conference play.
