The Saints went 2-2 in the opening weekend of the 2007 season at the Pre-Region Tournament.

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Saints volleyball team took the floor for the first time in 2007 at the Pre-Region Volleyball tournament hosted at Ozark Christian College over the weekend.

The Saints were competitive despite losing their opener to Baptist Bible College in three games. Coached by Ed Lewis, the CCCB women went on to defeat Vennard College 3-0 in their second match before losing to the top school in the Midwest Christian College Conference, Manhattan Christian College, in three games.

On Saturday, the Saints defeated Central Bible College in three straight games. Coach Lewis commented about the tournament, "We had a good opening of the season, improving with each match we played."

The team was lead by senior Anne Shanahan who posted 17 kills in the match against Central Bible. The Saints will host Calvary Bible College on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m., while Ozark Christian College comes to town Friday, Sept. 14th at 6:30 p.m.
