From time to time, the Financial Aid Office may request that you send information to the college. This may be because your FAFSA has been selected for verification by the Department of Education, or it may be miscellaneous information is needed to complete your financial aid package. If selected, you may need to send the following items:
- 2014 Tax Transcript*
- W-2 for student (and spouse and parent, whichever is applicable)
- Verification Worksheet sent by the Financial Aid Office.
Please make sure you sign all documents and double check to make sure you have sent all requested documents.* To obtain a copy of your tax transcript, please go to www.irs.gov; click on the “Get Transcript for my Tax Records ” link. Please include the exact information you provided for your 2014 Income Tax Return, including your address. You can either print out the transcript from that site and then mail it to Central or have the IRS mail you your transcript. More documents may be requested if the FAO deems it necessary to resolve any conflicting information.
If selected, verification must be completed before any Federal Student Aid is disbursed to a student. A student has until September 26, 2016 or 120 days after the last day of the student’s enrollment, whichever is earlier, to submit the verification documents. If a student chooses not to finish verification, no federal aid will be disbursed. Other factors in disbursing Federal Student Aid may apply.
