CCCB Recently Honored Employees

Central Christian College of the Bible recently honored eleven employees who have completed five-year increments of service.  This was part of an appreciation banquet for the staff and directors that was held at the close of the college’s 55th year.

There are seven people who received five-year awards from Dr. Ron Oakes, president.  Pictured left to right are President Oakes, Richard Rexrode (Vice President of Student Development), Aaron Merritt (Director of Online Services), Lori Peter (Director of Student Services), Rick Fordyce (Associate Dean of Assessment), and Rory Christensen (Professor of Youth and Family Ministry).

Two others were cited, but were not present for the picture.  They are April Christensen (Women’s Residence Director) and Veronica Hamblin (Foundations and Corporate Relations, and Assistant Financial Aid Director).  Hamblin also worked for the college from
1990-2004.

Two men were recognized for ten years of service.  With President Oakes in the picture are Chad Summa (Professor of Old Testament) and Jamie Franke (Instructor of New Testament).  Franke is also the preaching minister at First Christian Church in Vandalia, MO.  He has traveled to the college twice a week for the last ten years.

Two of the college’s founding professors were honored for their fifty-five years of service.  They are Gareth Reese (Emeritus Professor of New Testament) and Lloyd Pelfrey (Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Old Testament).  Both came to Moberly in 1957 when the college began, and they now teach on a part-time basis.  Pelfrey commented to President Oakes that he and Reese are thinking of
retiring when the college is 65 years old in 2022.
