2008 Alumni Homecoming planned for Feb. 27-29

MOBERLY, Mo. — All CCCB Alumni are encouraged to attend the 2008 Alumni Homecoming event on Central's campus, February 27-29, sponsored by the Central Alumni Advising Association (C3A). This year's program schedule, dates, and format were all approved by the alumni who met during the 50th anniversary weekend last May.

We are so excited about what is planned just for you. Here is a glimpse of this program:

WORSHIP & WORD: Alumni worship band and four Alumni speakers from four different decades. They will stir your hearts with God’s Word and melt your heart in praise and worship.

  • The 70s: Dennis Warner, 1975               graduate, Wednesday night
  • The 80s: Scott Schoberg, 1988 graduate, Thursday morning
  • The 90s: Jon Ralls, 1996 graduate, Thursday evening banquet
  • The 00s: Mark Butrum, 2007 graduate, Friday morning
  • Music Leader: Matt Hunt, 1994 graduate, all sessions
  • ALUMNI BANQUET: Thursday evening, the C3A welcomes the 2008 graduating class into the association

  • Outstanding Alumni Award honoring one of our Alumni
  • Real-time Alumni Foreign Mission Interview (live via Skype)
  • Menu: Kettle-fried Turkey Breast; Garlic Mashed Potatoes; California Blend               Green Beans, Homemade Rolls, Apple Dessert/Hot Fudge Cake with Ice               Cream Dollop
  • Cost: $7 for Adults, $3 for Children (ages 8-3; 2 and under free)
  • NOSTALGIC CLASS OPPORTUNITIES: Reminisce while challenging your thinking by reliving actual class sessions taught by some of the best:

  • Gareth Reese: Acts Class, Thursday afternoon
  • Dick Koffarnus: Restoration History Class, Thursday afternoon
  • Mike Worstell: Multi-Cultural Ministry Class, Thursday afternoon
  • Ed Lewis: Evidences of Creation Class, Wednesday afternoon
  • CLASS DECADE REUNIONS: Following the Alumni Banquet, there will be five class reunions to get better connected with other alumni and to renew your friendships with those in your class.

  • 50s-60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s
  • Reunions will be held in different areas around the Ferneau Center fifteen minutes after the Alumni Banquet

    PRESIDENTIAL ADVISORY SESSION: Special meeting with President Oakes on Wednesday evening, 6:00 p.m. Here is an opportunity to:

  • Express your suggestions, perceptions, and recommendations to President Oakes for the future enhancement, growth, and development of the College
  • Engage in a Q & A time: Everything you always wanted to know about Central, but were afraid to ask
  • Hear the exciting proposal for a C3A Alumni Leadership Development Conference
  • Establish the C3A goals and projects
  • CELEBRATE THE GROUNDBREAKING OF THE WALTON STUDENT CENTER:

  • Special groundbreaking service for the Walton Student Center: Friday morning at 10:00
  • Special $20,000 Challenge Goal offering in gifts and pledges from Alumni and Students for the Walton Student Center
  • ALUMNI VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT: Friday afternoon

    CHILDCARE WILL BE PROVIDED

    ESCN SMALLER CHURCHES CONFERENCE: Saturday, March 1st. Plan to spend one more night and attend this invigorating, inspirational training program

    As you can see, you have a great opportunity to renew friendships, to share memories, and to be challenged and encouraged in your walk with our Lord! Blocks of hotel rooms have been reserved for you. We look forward to having you on campus once again!

    Alumni are also encouraged to participate in the Central Alumni Advisory Association (C3A). Former students are automatically Adjunct Members of the C3A. Alumni who choose to become Associate Members of the C3A will pay annual dues, will approve the decisions of the Association, and elect officers. Associate members receive a College Bookstore discount card and earn one free admission to an on-campus event (excluding the Alumni Banquet).
