Central Christian College Choir to present Holiday Concert

MOBERLY, Mo. — The 54-voice college choir from Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly will present a Chistmas program at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, December 6, at Pelfrey Hall. The College choir, under the direction of Dr. Tarry A. Koutz, has prepared a concert of secular and sacred music to entertain young and old alike.

An English handbell Choir will open the program, followed by traditional Christmas songs such as "Jingle Bells," "Sleigh Ride," and "Christmas Is the Best Time of the year." An eight-voice ensemble from within the choir, The Great Day Singers, will present "Frosty, the Snowman" and a novelty piece.

Special costumed characters will be part of the program so those in attendance are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture pictures of their children with the characters. The program is for the entire family.

The second half of the program will be a musical drama adapted from "A Christmas Tale" by Aaron Reynolds. It will present the real reason for the season, the birth of Christ, in a modern and innovative manner, quite different than is traditionally done in a Christmas program. Music, drama and lighting effects will bring the action to life.

Dr. Ron Oakes, president of CCCB, invites everyone in the community and surrounding towns to attend. Bring the whole family. Invite your friends, neighbors and relatives for a wonderful evening of entertainment and worship. Admission is free and an ofering will be taken to help the group with expenses.
