STUDENT MINISTER JOB DESCRIPTION
 General
§  Lead yourself-Love the LORD with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength
§  Work directly under the supervision of the Senior Minister, Administrator, and MCC Elders
§  Supervise SM Administrative Assistant and interns
§  Be self-motivated and require minimal supervision
§  Be willing to serve the church above and beyond the duties described here
§  Direct the planning, organizing, conducting, coordinating and evaluating of a comprehensive ministry to students (middle school through college)
§  Stay informed on methods, materials, principles, procedures, promotions, and administration as related to the student ministry and the overall church growth
§  Plan yearly budget for SM
§  Weekly hospital visitation
§  Minister on call rotation
 
Leader Development
§  Work with SM core leadership team in overseeing ministry for middle-college students
§  Multiply yourself by recruiting, training, and developing volunteers for ministry to students
§  Release students into ministry within and outside the walls of the church
§  Host regular meetings with SM volunteers for communication, fellowship, teamwork, and unity (currently every other month)
§  Oversee the spiritual well being of volunteer team
 
Oversee SM Programming
§  Create weekly experiences for students to encounter Jesus Christ (Sunday morning and Wednesday evening, age level specific)
§  Choosing and implementing a relevant curriculum
§  Oversee SM band
§  Develop teaching rotation for SM programs as well as be a regular teacher on that rotation
§  Setup venues used in SM programs
§  Ensure follow up to visiting and missing students
 
Lead and develop SM trips and events
§  Lead a minimum of 1 foreign mission trip a year
§  Take MS and HS Students on at least 1 retreat a piece during school year
§  Host banquet for graduating Seniors each Spring
§  Plan, develop, implement, and Dean MCC SM summer camp
§  Create summer calendar trips and events
§  Plan and implement fall kickoff each year
§  Host outreach events on a regular basis
 
Shepherd Students
§  As a disciple of Christ, mentor the youth to maturity as students of God’s Word who testify, teach, and disciple other students
§  Meet with students on a regular basis outside of church
§  Counsel and mentor students
§  Work through crisis situations with students and families
§  Develop a culture of evangelism amongst students
 
Communicate SM ministry and vision to the overall church body
§  Meet with your elder on a regular basis to communicate problems, needs, and information
§  Work with student ministry assistant in communicating to parents, leaders, and church
§  Work with other staff, elders, and church members in getting the word out about student ministry needs and happenings

The Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Pleasant Hill, Illinois is searching for a part-time youth Minister.  Congregation is averaging 80 in attendance with two elementary & two Jr. & Sr. High Sunday School Classes.  We also have two Jr. & Sr. Youth Meetings on Sunday night.  There is a monthly After School Program for the elementary students.  All of these programs are lead by church volunteers.   Pleasant Hill is a rural community of 900 plus residents located in Southern Pike County between the Mississippi & Illinois rivers.  The salary is negotiable with taxes withheld, a gas card, weekend housing and meals provided.  A college or seminary student would be ideal but all resumes will be accepted.  If the candidate is musically talented we may be able to offer a music minister position; although this is not a requirement for the youth minister position.  Resumes can be sent to:  Aaron McCombs, Senior Minister, 407 South Main Street, Pleasant Hill, Illinois 62366 or email to atm62ph@yahoo.com.  Phone number if you need more information is 217-734-9280.

Position:  Full-Time Children's Minister

South Union Christian Church in Bloomington, Indiana is a unique Body of Believers with an average weekly attendance of 450 to 500
people.  We have an awesome unified staff consisting of 6 full-time and 3 part-time servants.  We also have a preschool/daycare that has multiple part-time employees.  We are led by a group of Elders who are both humble and flexible.  And I have served here as Senior Minister for 24 years.

One of our staff has been led by the Holy Spirit to move out of the ministry and back into the mainstream workforce.  She will be missed in a big way, but her leaving opens up a ministry opportunity for someone else.  We are seeking someone to take over the Children's Ministry here at SUCC.  This is a full-time position that involves working with children ages newborn up to 6th grade.  We are awaiting with great anticipation to see who God is going to send to fill this awesome place in our Family.  If during your prayer time you

Here are the qualifications and tasks we are looking for, first the qualifications:
 
1) Must love the Lord with all his heart
2) Must be absolutely committed to Jesus Christ, the only natural Son of God
3) Must value his alone-time with the Lord in the Word and in prayer, showing a genuine desire to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ
4) Must love kids from ages 0 thru college age
5) Must be capable of leading a youth ministry (if a first time ministry, preaching minister will help where time allows)
6) While interested in creating fun opportunities for kids, he will not place fun above the development of spiritual maturity in his goals for young people
7) Is team oriented in working with preaching minister, elders and youth sponsors
8) Will not take offense easily, but will always stand firm on God's principles
9) Will be submissive to those in leadership to whom he must give account (assuming he is not asked to do anything contrary to the Lord's will)
10) Must be blameless, not known to have any ungodly practices or behavior in all areas of life
 
Here are the tasks required:
 
1) Will help organize youth sponsors for each age group of youth
2) Organize youth groups:  a) Preschool thru K  b) 1st thru 3rd grades   c) 4th thru 6th grades    d) Jr Hi, 7th & 8th grades   e) High School, 9th-12th grades
3) Initiate a single adult/college age group
4) Help organize and become actively involved in a young married couple's group
5) Make personal visits to youth of a one-on-one nature, careful to avoid the appearance of evil
6) Will plan and create, if necessary, curriculum for youth groups, with help of sponsors
7) Will personally teach Jr Hi at least once each week, and high school once each week
8) He will run his plans by the preaching minister before implementing them and report to him regularly
 
    The above is a huge task list, and will not be expected to be implemented in 30 days; prioritizing will be necessary and working closely with supervisors will be necessary
